This compact solid state electronic module converts your ordinary brake light into an attention getting visual alerting device, creating more visibility and conspicuity when you are stopped or stopping. With BackOFF installed, when you apply your brakes, it causes your brake light to automatically emit a visual alerting signal of 3 short light flashes, followed by 1 steady on light condition of 3.5 seconds. Will the BackOFF Brake Light Flasher work with my motorcycle?
The BackOFF will work with any motorcycle that does not have LED lighting. Motorcycles that have LED lighting must purchase the BackOFF XP.

The BackOFF is legal in all 49 states, except California. Due to state regulations, which require a specific flashing pattern, California residents must use the BackOFF XP, BackOFF Wig Wag, or a Kisan TailBlazer model.

No. This module will not work with LED lights. You must purchase the BackOFF XP if you have LED brake lights.

In the second mode, the brake light flashes 5 short and then remains steady on as long as the brakes are held. The BackOFF XP will work with LED lights. The BackOFF XP is legal in all 50 states. However, due to state regulations, which require a specific flashing pattern, California residents must use User Selected Mode 2.

The BackOFF Wig Wag is designed for use with motorcycles equipped with two brake lights or a brake light housing with two bulbs, located side-by-side. When the brake is pressed, the two bulbs flash an alternating left-right pattern, four times, then three flashes with both bulbs together, then both bulbs continuously on. The pattern may repeat or end, depending on the user selected mode chosen.

Will the BackOFF Brake Light Flasher work with the Tri-Star XP Turn Signal to Brake Light Converter?
Yes. The BackOFF is compatible with the Tri-Star XP.

However, to prevent confusion by following drivers from flashing both turn signals while making a turn, we recommend the following installation when installing both modules:

1) Install the Tri-Star XP per the instructions.
2) Install the BackOFF between the Tri-Star XP and the brake light. This will allow only the center brake light to flash.
